Australian Wool Services’ ANDAR division has developed a “High Capacity Scoured Wool Cleaner”, solving more than one issue for a client operating a wool scouring business.

As the scouring plant expanded operations and pushed equipment to the limits to process more and more scoured wool, existing equipment was found wanting.
The volumes were just too high - they had increased far beyond the original design specifications for the original machines.

Business growth means that machines installed to cope with the smaller capacities of several years ago were experiencing limitations in volumes, with a reduction in de-dusting action.

The Scoured Wool Cleaners became a bottle neck in the processing line.

Working closely with an existing client ANDAR developed, manufactured, and trialled a High Capacity Scoured Wool Cleaner. Geared towards increased production volumes, the new machines also have increased ability to remove residual dust from the wool after scouring.

After extensive industry trials, ANDAR has successfully installed the High Capacity Wool Cleaner for a delighted client in the UK.

“These machines process coarse wools and we have seen significant interest from Australia and
New Zealand for the upgrades”, explains ANDAR’s Managing Director, James Irvine. “We expect to see significant call for this improved high capacity model in India as well.”

ANDAR works with mills and processors in Asia, Europe and North America to find better, smarter ways of processing Australian wool.
