Funding from AWI is helping to overcome a problem that has plagued efforts to eradicate virulent footrot in Australia

A problem that has plagued efforts to eradicate virulent footrot in Australia looks set to be solved thanks to funding from Australian Wool Innovation.

An anomaly in the Gelatin Gel test for footrot has meant that some sheep have falsely tested positive for virulent footrot.

But now Dr Brian Cheetham from the University of New England has designed a new test that it's hoped will end the uncertainty surrounding the Gelatin Gel test.
