AWGA NEARS AGREEMENT WITH PETA.

Australian Wool Growers Association (AWGA) Chair Chick Olsson announced today that talks with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), which began in New York in June, are progressing and that he expects the two parties to reach an agreement within the week.

“AWGA is proving, as we’ve said all along, that wool growers don’t have to become vegans or spend millions of dollars on go-nowhere lawsuits and costly advertising campaigns to stop the war against wool”, says Olsson.

“Wool growers, PETA and other animal welfare groups can find enough common ground to stand on together so as to finally allow us to reach an end to this damaging boycott.”
While the details of the agreement have not yet been finalised, Olsson is confident that the final product will be mutually beneficial to both animal welfare groups and wool growers.
